What the Critics Are Saying About Palazzo Wines
Palazzo 2004 Napa Valley Red Wine
Robert Parker – Wine Advocate (90 points)
“Scott Palazzo has fashioned a stylish, European-inspired dry red offering wonderful sweet black cherry, cassis, lead pencil shavings, pain grille, and licorice aromas. Medium-bodied, elegant, and refined, it is accessible at present, but will be even better with another year or so of bottle age. It should evolve nicely for a decade. It’s nice to see such finesse styled efforts emerging from California as there is often a misconception that everything produced in that state is too ripe, too big, and too extracted.”

Groezinger Wine Merchants – Napa Valley
“We are down-right tickled to be the first to offer this brand new release from our good buddy Scott Palazzo. We used to wonder why this cat is so irritatingly happy all the damn time, until we realized that he’s a glamorous and successful film producer, has a good looking girlfriend, plays guitar, and has crafted one of the hottest new wines in the Valley. Plus, he is a connoisseur of great pizza. Driven by his love of and passion for the wines of Bordeaux’s’ “Right Bank”, Scott and consulting winemaster Peter Franus have come up with a monster wine from hillside vineyards in Careneros. No wussy wine here, the Merlot component has a sturdy backbone and plenty of horsepower, showing gobs of dark fruit and possessing a lush, elegant mouth-feel, highlighted by the floral spiciness of Cabernet Franc and the tannic structure of Cabernet Sauvignon. Think Pomerol-style pencil lead and mineral with fat California ripeness. Robert Parker tasted this wine at a restaurant where Scott was dining (we told you he was swanky) and swooned. Get your stash before the points start flying and the wine is g-g-gone!”
